Lady Liberty (NY 152)

Lady Liberty (NY152) is a late Maincrop chipping variety that produces smaller sized tuber profile than most chippers and a slightly textured skin.  Lady Liberty is the new standard for chip color consistency from early to late season storage and chips great direct from 46 F storage. Very suitable for the small snack sized pack market.

Variety Strengths: 

  • Moderate to high resistance to Common Scab
  • Excellent chipping from short term(3 months) at 48-50 F and chips from long term storage better to Lamoka and can chip from cold storage without reconditioning (46F)
  • Very low incidence of Secondary growth, Growth cracks and Hollow heart
  • Low incidence to Black spot Bruising, better than Snowden
  • Better flavor profile than Snowden
  • Smaller tuber profile than Lamoka, well suited for small packs
  • May require further in row spacing than Lamoka, 11.5-12.5 inches
  • May require a higher N rate than Lamoka
  • Specifc Gravity slightly lower than Lamoka
